Home away from home. We finally have somwhere to go for some good Swahili Food @swahilivillagenewarknj and I heard they are opening in Manhattan soon. I love food. But food from Tanzania and East Africa is my absolute favorite. You should have seen how excited I was when I saw the menu with all familiar dishes from home. I loved seeing the place packed with people from different cultures and nationalities, the food was great and so was the ambiance. There really aren’t that many restaurants in the US that serve Tanzanian or Kenyan foods so finding one so close to Manhattan was uplifting. Only down side is that because we don’t have that many restaurants that represent the region it was disappointing that the DJ played all the great tracks from all parts of Africa EXCEPT East Africa. As East Africans, we need to do better to promote our music and our artists. Only we are our best Ambassadors. #EastAfrica #Food
