“Words matter” has become cliche but they do. Kanye West may not believe what he’s saying; he may be doing it to cause controversy — regardless of the “why,” his words give fuel to people in hate groups like the Goyin Defense League. He’s made threats against Jews and doubled down on them with a global platform. Threats toward any person or group is unacceptable — I’m tired of people saying whatever they want without any sort of consequence. This is not “entertainment.” It seems as if people who used to support him — while he was harassing his ex-wife and her family, while he was making asinine comments about people who are critical of his work, while making absurd claims that his children were “kidnapped” for attention — are finally cutting ties.
