I got introduced to @terisa_griffin by a mutual friend Mary Datcher. The first record I remixed for her was “Sunshine” and I distinctly remember going in the studio not knowing what to expect. When I played her the track she just went in the booth and just starting cutting the song. I was in the control room like WTF! Every time I had a suggestion or idea, before I could even say anything she just did what I was thinking, so I just sat my ass back and enjoyed the journey. I knew from that moment on we were going to be thick as thieves. A few months later we did #Wonderful and I was like, “T we got us one.” WMC in Miami was coming up, so I invited her to join me for a few gigs to perform the song. The first gig was for @BobbyAndSteveUK’s “Soul On The Beach” at the Clevelander (@clevelandersobe). She shut that sh*t down... and I will never forget Barbara Tucker (@barbaratuckersings) putting a crisp $100 bill in Terisa’s bra during the performance. I knew it was on! After that it was a bidding war for the song. We ended up doing a deal with @SoulHeavenRecords out of #London. We toured the world off that song. Africa, all of Europe.. it was amazing. Fast forward 2 years and there was all this buzz about ‘Wonderful’ coming out of New York and New Jersey. We were both like, “Huh?” They took off on the record like it was brand new. Then Chicago started picking it up and next thing we knew, we had a classic! Thank you to every #DJ that helped make ‘Wonderful’ what it is today. And Terisa, you already know! #DJTerryHunter
