Although I am sorely behind on posting, this was so significant a day to relive. Yesterday the leadership of Miami-Dade County all came together for the Osvaldo N. Soto Miami-Dade Justice Center Grand Opening. There were so many memories shared about our 100 year old 73 W. Flagler, including from the people who served in there for decades. But nothing matched the joy of seeing former Chief Judge Soto and the Soto family rightfully recognized with this tremendous honor. As one speaker said, it is a once in a lifetime achievement, and Osvaldo would be undoubtedly proud. Congratulations and THANK YOU to everyone who had a hand in this project over the last 15+ years, and especially to the court staff, judges, and lawyers who will serve here day in and day out. This new courthouse is the fruit of your efforts as well. Supporters were gifted a stately plaque with a physical piece of the old courthouse floor to remember our years spent across the street. What was most important was our time spent together yesterday. It was the ultimate nostalgia to see everyone gathered in the courthouse again just five years post-pandemic. ❤️
