Beginning with your prep, work through your favourite blow-dry balm from damp before creating a pin sharp centre parting, I've used GHD's tail comb and wide tooth comb for this process. Next, blow out the hair with the brush type best suited to your hair (GHD paddle brush and Helios hairdryer here), taking medium size sections. I like to polish over the cuticle and edges before moving on so GHD's gold straightener was my go to for this. Next part your hair from ear to ear across the top of the head and using your favourite setting spray or strong hold hairspray, pull the back section in to a tight ponytail just above centre to ensure the hair will follow the angle of the cheek bones and lock in with a hooked bungee elastic. Then take one side of the front section and again using your setting or hairspray saturate and pull back, then secure on to ponytail with an elastic bobble; repeat on the other side. You should now have a really tight, centre parted snatched look with a ponytail left to work with. At this point if you have particularly straight hair I like to take a large tong (I used the GHD Curve soft curl tong) to give some natural movement to the ponytail and help you work in to shape. Take a 1 inch section on the under side of the ponytail and create your favourite braid and keep separate for now, I chose a fishtail secured with a small elastic. Next, separate the rest of the ponytail in two and saturate with a styling creme to add a dewy sleekness. Twist each section around in to a shape that feels aesthetically pleasing and intertwining before pinning in place. You can then take your braid from earlier and snake through your twists to your liking. To elevate this look I made a bow from hair extensions but you could swap this out for a velvet bow clip for ease. A perfect look for party season!
