The UK's next Prime Minister has been chosen. The next leader of the Conservative Party and incoming Prime Minister of the United Kingdom is Liz Truss, who beat former Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak to the top job. Ms Truss, the current Foreign Secretary, will not formally become PM until tomorrow as she has to make a dash to Balmoral in Scotland to be appointed by the Queen. She takes over from Boris Johnson in the most daunting economic circumstances since the 1970s, and said she would act "within one week" to address those challenges.
