And, now that summer is here, and we have a new baby, the first trips we’ll be taking are road trips around Southern California. I’m working with @NHTSAgov to share tips on how to stay safe on the road and get you ready for a summer trip! While these might seem like simple tips, some of these things can often go overlooked. Make sure your vehicle is ready to hit the road by reviewing NHTSA’s safety checklist: Get your vehicle serviced; Check for vehicle safety recalls; Check all the “bells and whistles”: tire pressure and tread wear. Also, check the spare; make sure your headlights, brake lights, turn signals, emergency flashers and interior lights are all in working order; coolant level; fluid level for oil, brakes, transmission, power steering, and windshield washer; the condition and fit of belts and hoses; wiper blades in good working order and pack an emergency roadside kit.
