In yoga the phrase “it’s not about the destination but the journey” gets thrown around A LOT to remind us to enjoy the ride and the lessons that come with it. Yoga is an ever evolving endless journey with no ceiling or limit. Much like life, yoga is the journey and not the destination. And while I whole heartedly agree with that statement as it pertains to life and yoga, when it comes to travel however, that whole sentiment is a hard no for me. I absolutely do not enjoy the journey to the destination; no matter how much I try to meditate or convince myself there’s a lesson in it. The layovers, the jet lag, the fatigue, the dehydration, the ridiculously cold cabin air, $7 water, the god awful airport food consisting of GMO carbs sugar and SUS meat, etc etc etc. Oh, and how TSA treats you like you’re Al-Qaeda getting through security. With all the modern day advances, i.e. #tesla and that Musk dude trying to implant chips in your brain... how is it that we’ve somehow gone backwards and when it comes to air travel? Excuse the rant but I’m currently shacked up on a layover in #amsterdam in search of something healthy and edible. Anyway- finally getting around to posting some pics from my last trip to #tulum #mexico with the beautiful @thatblondebikinigirl 🤍 When it comes to travel, settling in and savoring the destination is the best part.
