Today is the start of BREAST CANCER AWARENESS month. This is what breast cancer looks like. It’s not pink and ribbons. It’s burns, pinches, cuts and scars on your body and your soul that last a lifetime. Its pills after pills, surgery after surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. It’s spending days in the hospital getting poked and prodded by 10 doctors and 17 nurses. It’s getting your blood drawn so many times you don’t have veins left to use. It’s nausea, pain, headaches and bruising. It’s fighting every single day for your life and facing fear in the face and saying not today! Breast cancer doesn’t discriminate. Doesn’t care if you are 54, 36 or 21! Anyone can get it. I did! That’s why it’s so important to be aware. To check yourself not just in October but every single month! So that you never have to go through any of this! Es que te saquen tanta sangre que tus venas tengan llagas. Es mirar a tus miedos en la cara y decirles hoy no! El cancer se seno no discrimina!! No le importa si tienes 54, 36 o 21! Cualquier persona le puede dar cancer. A mi me dio! Por eso es la causa #1 de mujeres latinas menores de 40!!!
