alrighty, so I recently stayed at @thehoxtonhotel in Barcelona. Here are a few of my notes: • Smallest rooms approx start at about £210 during summer season. • The hotel had a fairly good amount of communal areas, all with great decor & vibes — which is nice as some of the bedrooms are quite small. • It is cheaper to book hotel rooms via their website, specifically using your mobile. • If you wanna lounge by the pool, book a cabana in advance as you need a reservation for them after 11am everyday and there aren’t many so they get booked up pretty quickly. • My favourite food was on the roof at the restaurant called Tope; we’re talking tacos and a dedicated slushie menu 😍; though downstairs’ deep-dish pizza restaurant, Four Corners was pretty good too. • There’s a kiosk by the check in desk, that’s filled with products you can buy from local artisans and brands; definitely check it out! I saw brand like @rowsebeauty & @bravafabrics stocked there. • The location is good, it’s literally next door to Westfield and about a 10 minute car journey to loads of chic restaurants and popular spots. Overall, when it comes to hoxton hotels, I used to think their rooms were small, a little boring and sometimes overpriced & some are tbh 🤷🏾‍♀️ but I think they’re newer hotels especially no longer fit in the “young and affordable” category and have upgraded to the “boujee & slightly disposable income boutique hotel” category and there’s nothing wrong with a little evolution. The design in their newer hotels like the Barcelona one is clearly, super thought through and expensive; a lot of the pieces looked custom which means the place was filled with personality but with all that naturally comes a price increase, so I can’t be mad at them for that but just don’t expect to regularly find £100 rooms like they used to have circa 2018. Would I recommend? 100%, as I had a great time and the vibes really were legit👌🏾 *ad press stay
