Oftentimes, we don’t know who is struggling because they hide it well. Depression and suicidal thoughts don’t always look grim and sad on the outside. It’s not always the people who stay inside the house and/or miss their personal hygiene. It can also be with people who are active and “sporty,” those who smile a lot, and even have a good sense of humor. Sometimes they’re the ones who like to make people laugh. Let us be more in tune of our loved ones’ needs. ♥️ My biggest mistake when we had our first newborn was not speaking out that I was feeling more than just hormonal, exhausted, and in physical pain. I thought I was the only one feeling like the way I did. I went out with friends and family when they were visiting even though I was pretty much dying and drowning inside. None, even my husband for the first few months (when we had our first child), knew “I had a storm to weather” beyond postpartum hormones. I wish I had reached out sooner. I hope the same for you.
