How do I summarize over two years worth of private work that will now be released into the world for everyone to hear, to measure and to ultimately find their own meaning within? This album has been about learning to tune my ear to the voice of God, then to be obedient with what I’ve heard Him speak, even when what I see & experience is not yet what was said and perhaps is requiring more than what I thought it would. My favorite story in the Bible is the one that foreshadowed God giving up His son for us. God asked Abraham to go up to Mt Moriah and sacrifice his son Isaac. Anytime Abraham was called by God in the Old Testament he always said, ‘Here I am,’ and this time was no different. I’m so challenged by his response to God because I’m pretty sure I don’t have that reaction every time, more often than not I am apprehensive and scared at what God might ask or require of me. I’m happy being the worker bee and I’m not naturally the CEO so this all has been a major stretch for me and still is. As Abraham walked up the mountain Isaac realized that they were missing a key ingredient for the sacrifice, the lamb. Abraham responded that God Himself would provide the lamb. Then as they got close, Abraham told his servants to wait there because ‘Isaac and I are going up to worship.’ This was the first time worship was ever mentioned in the Bible There was no song, no worship team, no service - he was going up the mountain to sacrifice his son in obedience to what God had said.
