Hello book fans! It’s me Maisie Chan taking over Sharna’s account today! If you haven’t heard of me then I’ll introduce myself! I’m a debut novelist and my book DANNY CHUNG DOES NOT DO MATHS which was one of the few British Chinese middle grade novels for children in the U.K. by a British author. That fact still shocks me as it’s 2022. There shouldn’t just be a few books that show the diversity of our nation. 😳 I’m also the author of the Tiger Warrior chapter book series for younger readers. It’s got portals, dragons, fighting and Chinese zodiac animals. It’s perfect for fans of Beast Quest and those new to independent reading and is published by @hachettekids. 🐯I was lucky enough to have been asked to contribute to The Very Merry Murder Club and Sharna has a story in there too! It was a great project to be part of and I of course jumped at the chance to write a crime story. I was a little apprehensive about writing a Murder so I did a heist/kidnapping story instead! Maybe I’ll upgrade to Murder like Sharna one day! 🗡I love detective fiction and crime stories and when I saw the High Rise Mystery I was glad that finally someone had written a detective genre book with characters of colour for children.
