They have a blast around a fire pit with some beers, but she ends up with roofies in her blue raspberry Slurpie; waking up chained and bent over a chair in a dusty man cave ... branded, brainwashed and ‘part of the family.’ For deeper meaning, beyond my fetishized desires at odds with my anger (anger of being emotionally muted like the “Pavlovian Bitch” I describe in the song), I’d say the video depicts my particular “struggle” as a human female artist. I’m pulled into a cycle of reward-reprimand as I attempt to simply exist as a person and collaborate as an artist. A “Good Boy” comes along to help me, work with me, promising acceptance and freedom - only to enslave and abuse my efforts.
