I’ll be the first to tell ya, I love a good National Park elopement 😍And a park can have a special place in your hearts, making it an obvious choice for an elopement! But the truth is, it’s not as easy as it looks and there are a lot of restrictions, rules, and regulations you’ll need to follow. If you’re wondering what you should do, this list will be a good start! 🌲Get your permits! Bet you didn’t know you needed those, did ya? Make sure you give yourself enough time to get yours. Every park is different, so do your research beforehand. Some parks have designated areas for elopements and can book out up to a year in advance! 🏜Understand the restrictions! Most parks have a limit on guests (usually a max of 50, but most of the time it’s under 25). Take your guest and vendor count into consideration—this includes state parks and national forests, too. Also keep in mind restrictions on bringing dogs, sparklers, alcohols, confetti, glitter, rentals, etc. 🥾Practice Leave No Trace! Exchange your vows, take insanely beautiful photos, and explore to your heart’s content, but leave it better than you found it. Avoid trampling fragile vegetation, feeding wildlife, picking up rocks or leaves, leaving the champagne bottle cork, etc. It should look as if you were never there at all! National parks were created to preserve the beauty of nature. Getting married in one is a privilege, and can be easily taken away if we aren’t respecting the land. After all, we want generations for many more years to also enjoy the places we love the most! 😍 . . . #katiebergphoto #nationalparkelopement #nationalparkelopementphotographer #elope #elopement #adventurewedding #adventureweddingphotographer
