When my dad was a kid, his aunts would take him to Kings Theater in the dog days of summer to cool off in the air-conditioned auditorium. That story inspired a scene in Mercury Pictures Presents, my latest novel, out this Tuesday. Earlier this month, I was lucky enough to visit Kings Theater and discuss the novel and my family with Sarah Lyall for a piece in the NYT (link in bio), with very cool photos by Bryan Derballa.
