You might think my journey began in NYC with the Rockettes, but it actually started in Detroit, MI at the iconic Fox Theatre 💁🏻♀️. It was 1998, a time when Christmas Across America casts were still a thing, and I was just an 18-year-old fresh out of high school.
•
Back in the 90’s, the Rockettes‘ arrival to the theatre on opening night was a big deal surrounded by much fanfare. My first year, we were driven to the front of the theatre in gorgeous classic cars.
•
This was also my first experience dancing in a parade in the freezing cold. Yes, those are drumsticks we are twirling and catching in time to the music, and YES those are xylophones strapped to our backs and we are in fact playing them🤪
•
The last clip is of my favorite kick line that the gals still perform even today. To me, this music embodies what it feels like to hit the stage as a Radio City Rockette. It will forever bring tears to my eyes and pride to my heart.
•
This year marks 100 years of a Legacy that I am honored to be a part of.
