I interned for Andre Leon Talley very briefly for a few months. It was at 4 Times Square, on the 12th floor, and I was one of five that scheduled and rescheduled his tennis appointments, answered calls from DVF and Whoopi Goldberg, dropped off flowers to his suite at the St. Regis during fashion week, and heard all that there is to hear about the genius of Manolo Blahnik. He then left Vogue, but his impact loomed large in the office. Indeed, his presence shall always be felt in the annals of fashion and, by some small measure, my career. He was flamboyant and pioneering. He was unique. He was a legend. Rest In Peace, ALT.
