Radicchio season is upon us! We’ve trialed loads of special varieties this year sourced from Italian seed companies to experiment with timings and the art of growing chicories. It’s such fun to be slowly working on our growing skills with this challenging crop and to see things gradually improve each year- we still have lots to learn though. Here at Flourish, they’ve been in season for a month already and it’s wonderful to watch their form and colours change with the approach of winter. The unusually mild autumn weather has thrown up a few challenges as this crop adores to grow in the cold conditions.
