The ladder inside the Eames House living room was made by Charles and Ray at the Eames Office. It could be easily moved around the room by hooking it to the open ceiling trusses, allowing it to serve a variety of functions including changing light bulbs, hanging objects from the ceiling, and dusting. Visually, the ladder emphasizes the height of the living room and helps draw the eye around the space.
