I remember wanting to have an online presence and trying to imagine life as an influencer… I saw a lot of amazing women who I could identify with but I still didn’t see anyone who was…ME. The biggest concern I had was not being able to see myself in this space… I want to share my story to foster a community that feels comfortable with understanding the uniqueness in our differences. I am the African American girl who was born in New Jersey but raised in Zimbabwe, whose mother is from Burundi and Father is from Benin. who grew up Muslim but converted to Christianity, who speaks English & French, who loves a full glam as much as she loves rocking her bare skin and showing off her freckles. I'm the girl who will proudly tell you my duality is my superpower! Being or feeling “different” than those you admire but still feeling welcomed and a sense of belonging is important. You too have a superpower, and it’s by simply being YOU.
