I’m going freelance! I realize sometimes it’s difficult to know exactly where people are at with openness to opportunities, with availability and margin, and what chapter of career they are in. At the risk of over communicating, I wanted to give an update for myself. For the past 3.5 years, I’ve been working full time for Vevo and then a small media start up called Mighty Pursuit building out a small bank of projects for them (unreleased at the moment), learning the ins and outs of the industry, putting lots of reps in as a director, while hustling a side project here and there to build my body of work and to shape my voice as a director. As of June 1, I’m leaving the nest and spreading my wings as a full-time independent freelance director. I’m unsigned, and eager to work with and learn from as many production companies as possible at the moment. I’m primarily wanting to grow in commercial work and branded doc storytelling. Having spent a few years mostly working with musicians (who I love!), I’ve found I’m getting so much energy and enjoyment now working with actors and real people. I’m hungry, and willing to write on just about anything. Additionally, I am finishing up final post work on my first original narrative short, which I shot last year.
