This December, we are overjoyed to celebrate the global launch of our VOICES audioplay in honor of Black women’s stories in ACCRA, GHANA 🇬🇭. VOICES is an audio play directed by @ajamonet celebrating the voices, values, and visions of Black women in the global movement to end violence against women, girls and non-binary people. For over 2 years, we have gathered stories, engaged in collective listening, and collaborated with Black women and non-binary actors and musicians leading to the VOICES audioplay which is now being shared with the world. While hundreds of people from the diaspora at large gather every year to celebrate and return, there is a major gap in literary and theater-based events to engage in the social, political, and cultural significance of returning to Ghana. We invite you to gather with us as we launch the play, engage the meaning of return and diaspora and envision a world where African people of the continent and diaspora are collaborating and loving each other across cultures, borders and customs. Join us for an immersive listening experience of the debut audioplay, and enjoy food and drinks, a curated art exhibition, sounds and vibes by Ghanaian DJs, a panel with special guests, alongside other Black women and those who love us.
