We moved in with my mom and dad two weeks ago and after one year of being new parents out in California without family help, I understand why people say “it takes a village”. I understand that family can be a complicated thing for many people and this is a HUGE privilege to be able to have a healthy, functional relationship with our family. I am convinced that many parent’s mental health is deteriorating due to the fact that many of us are overly busy and feel like all of it is on our shoulders. We were made to live in community, we were made to share the load with others and after just two weeks I can honestly say that a weight has been lifted and we are realizing that we were in survival mode for the last year trying to do this on our own. We won’t be living with them forever since we are hoping to buy a house but I am soaking in this time and want to hopefully bring some normalcy to a life stage that many have the tendency to be embarrassed about. I am SO excited to share more about our lives together and what a blessing a multigenerational household can be. We can already see a difference in Georgia and how much she loves being around her grandparents and how much joy she beings them. It’s beautiful to watch your family fall in love with your child. Some of you have talked about how you lived with your parents for a season too! We would love to hear about your experience. 🤍 #multigenerationalliving #multigenerationalhome #multigenerational #wholesomecontent #happyfamily #softlife #softfamily #slowliving #intentionalliving #ittakesavillage #familylife #familygoals #multigenerationalfamily
