Long-term relationships and the interior design process have a lot in common (keep reading for an only slightly-forced analogy!) Both require vision, flexibility, open-mindedness, compromise, patience, determination, courage, hope, faith, humility, disappointment, pain, the ability to laugh at yourself, vulnerability, more financial cost than anticipated, more joy than anticipated, and love that makes you willing to take the risk. At the beginning of any project it’s impossible to know the challenges you’ll face and what you’ll find when you open up the literal and metaphorical walls, but at least so far🥴, the risk has been worth the reward.
