When we finally decided we were ready for kids, the internet trolls had a lot to say like “They’re doing it for the money.” “They’re faking it for views.” But honestly? That just made me want to share more. Because for every ignorant comment, there were thousands of women who understood. Women healing from their childhood. Women who never found the right partner. Women who never felt the switch flip... until they did. I was all three. And then one day, I realized: we’ve built the home, love, and life I always dreamed of. Why not share it with a baby and give them the life we always wanted? I share because this is my digital diary, but more importantly because no one talks enough about the awkward, isolating, confusing space of trying to conceive. It’s a weird season. You don’t want to overshare, you don’t want to sound ungrateful, and you definitely don’t want to hear another “just relax” or “put your legs up.” So to the women feeling stuck in that space of “this is eating me alive but I feel like I shouldn’t complain”... I see you. I am you. And to every negative test that makes my heart drop but I only took because my period is 10+ days late & having pregnancy like symptoms.... I’m getting sick of you 😇 I love you guys, and I’ll never stop holding space for you. Always.
