I will never forget my first scarab pieces, small humble objects hand polished by the sea, on the port of Anafi, my feet dangling from the old pier, listening to the sound of the waves. I am happy to have know the incomparable feeling of being in the moment. Just breathing and being one with everything. I try to get back to this peace everyday by working the same material with the same love. Hoping to reach the moment again, to tame doubts and voices, to heal slowly by shaping a fraction of the world. To be slowly reborn, time and time again like this great bug. Life is long and the road is not easy but if the scarab can do it, I believe I can too.
