Starting up my yoga practice after such a long break has felt amaaazing and def made me question why I have a tendency to avoid my mat..
Things like perfectionism, body shame, and feeling triggered by Western appropriation of the practice (although real) have only been distractions from myself.
I'm on day 8 of my morning movement ritual and I feel like a new person. Yoga and surfing also go so beautifully hand in hand, I have really been marinating in the delicious marriage of these two art forms. The stiffness in my neck and shoulders, lower back and hips melts away more and more each day, my strength and focus in the water is palpable, and I haven't felt my typical knee pain in a week!
Hoping to keep this ritual going for as long as posssible! Anybody else have tips for getting out of bed and straight to the mat?
