Last few days to see Cold Hard Excellent Fish at Projet Pangee! ReAnimator, 2021, Porcelain, sculpture clay, ash glazed stoneware, concrete, lighting hardware, dyed shade, 62 × 25 1/2 × 12 in This was one of the first pieces started for the exhibition. It was inspired by sections of HP Lovecraft’s short story of the same name. Instead of resuscitating full human bodies for labour, the doctor begins reanimating specific body parts, liberating himself from the ill effects of a semi conscious uncontrollable brain. This mixed with my own long held ideas of domestic objects as part of a descriptive set design or as secondary players in a lived fantasy, plus the loose attachment of light and life-force, lead to the final piece.
