In early 2020, just before the world shut down, @emmawatson reached out to me and pitched an intriguing idea -- a reimagining of the London underground map, composed entirely of women and non binary people. She had been in conversation just months before with one of my favourite writers, Rebecca Solnit, who had recently created a similar map of the New York subway. Two years on, and I'm delighted to share the finished product! Named City of Women London, our poster replaces every Tube stop with the name of woman, non binary person, or a women led collective. Published by @haymarketbooks, you can pick up a copy of the poster wherever books are sold. I've written a piece about the project in the Guardian, linked in my stories. We also teamed up with @ucl to create an interactive version of the map! You can check it out at the link in my bio. With thanks to @transportforlondon and @wowglobal for their amazing support on this project! Photo credit: Suki Dhanda/The Guardian
