My story: I first fell in love with flowers almost 7 years ago, freelancing, taking design classes, & getting my hands dirty farming. I was quickly introduced to the flower world & fell madly in love. There are so many aspects to admire about this industry, from the quick pace, to the deep ties with foundational artistic principles, to its intrinsic connection to nature. I was quickly enamored & changed my career path within the sciences to instead pursue floral design. Flash forward a few years, I moved all the way across the country for this job as I dove into retail floristry along with much larger-scale events. Not for the faint of heart, this profession asks much more of you than meets the eye- Florists are juggling a million & one things- all before we get to the actual design. With each challenge & long day, I still felt such a deep love for this art form & for the people behind it. I have made my very best friends through flowers. I have learned more about gardening & plant types than I ever thought possible. I have grown as a manager, an organizer, a designer, a human being, and, now, a business owner. If you had asked me 7 years ago where I would be now, I don’t think I could have told you, but I can tell you now that I am so proud of all the places I have been & what I have already achieved. I am so thrilled to (officially) announce the launching of my own floral design company, KARIS. And now, I can’t wait to see what comes next. Cheers to growing -Karis
