Repost • @kthillier Did anyone else feel they were completely unprepared to be a parent, the minute they had to bathe their newborn? 😳😂
Thankful I had an amazing Pediatric Nurse do our twins first baths with us and showed us every step! Still we were so nervous the first time we did it at home...
They’re just so tiny, and chances are they’re not not going to love not being wrapped up like a burrito and snuggled on your chest! But these are the steps we followed to make it enjoyable for them and give us confidence.
At this stage it is much less about cleaning them. We used a very mild hypoallergenic bath oil and a warm, not hot water
(We had a baby bath thermometer to tell us exactly how hot it should be)
Another tip is to have a change mat with a towel near by so you can transfer them somewhere safe and wrap them up quickly 🤍
We bathed our twins separately until around 4 months old ! From then we started bathing them together in a regular bathtub and they have ever since.
