Ten years ago today, in Miller v. Alabama, EJI won a landmark ruling from the U.S. Supreme Court that struck down mandatory death-in-prison sentences for children. The decision led to relief for thousands of people and, in the decade since, hundreds of people sentenced as children to die in prison have been released. The majority of states now also ban juvenile life-without-parole sentences or have no one serving a juvenile life-without-parole sentence. [Link in story, 📷 @juvenileinjustice ]
