As a toddler we are naturally curious. We are experiencing life for the first time which makes us inquisitive about everything. We touch, we smell, we go, we look, all because we are in discovery mode. This is how we find something we like or like to do and how we become obsessed with that thing.
💯
As we get older we lose our sense of curiosity and people start telling us what we should and shouldn’t do. We no longer explore our curiosity, our curiosity is quenched by someone else’s input. In some cases this isn’t a bad thing because it can prevent us from experiencing negative life outcomes. But mostly, their input instills fear based on their experience with that thing.
🤦🏽♂️
But, without us exploring and questioning with curiosity, we fail to discover what we like. We don’t have a passion and sometimes we feel like we lack purpose because of it. The birthplace of passion is curiosity. We need exposure, access and opportunity to feed our curiosity so that we can discover our passion and lead purposeful lives.
🙌🏾
It is in our curiosity about life, business, relationships and careers that we discover our passion. We have somehow allowed our curiosity to be tamed to a point where fear is the dominant feeling. We need to exercise less fear and turn up our curiosity and we should encourage others to do the same. The more of us to have discovered our passion the more life feels more purposeful to us.
