Dear Boris... All I want for Christmas is for the wedding sector to be able to get back to work and for couples to be able to get back to planning their weddings without worry. Now you’ve opened the wider events sector at percentage capacity, why can’t you do the same for weddings? Now you’ve said family groups can mix indoors over five days with no supervision to celebrate an annual event, why can’t families come together in a well-managed and supervised venue to celebrate a once-in-a-lifetime occasion? If you can promise 100 of your own MPs that tiers will end in February to stop them voting against you, why can’t you make the same promise to 400,000 wedding workers to stop them fearing for their livelihoods?
