My director heart is so full right now. I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to work with a brilliant team of actors and designers on The Taming. They made the vision come to life so beautifully and working with them in rehearsals was always my favorite part of the day. This was a beast of a show. Diving deep into its political themes. Navigating costume changes. Balancing farce and truth. Time traveling to 1787 (comin’ back). GorgeousGoddamnPeopleEverywhere. But all of these challenges made the product THAT much more rewarding. Our nation is always striving to be better, but all of our definitions of “better” are vastly different. Rather than using our political differences to tear each other down, we should use them to lift each other up, because then, and ONLY then, can we create meaningful change.
