Last night at dinner with Lewie on the eve of entering kindergarten, Sam and Clementine were explaining to him how school lunch works. Lewie was getting super pumped and asked in the most excited voice if they could all sit together at the same table for lunch sometimes. As Sam and C sweetly explained that it doesn't work like that and they will never actually be in the lunch room at the same time big tears welled in Lewie's eyes and my heart began to burst. It didn't burst bc they couldn't sit together, but rather because were it possible, all three clearly would have given anything to make that happen. It burst for the immeasurable love between these tiny crazy little humans. As we left all of them at the same school today for the first time there were no tears from me, just an overflowing heart for each of them and gratitude for the teachers who I know will watch over them as they start to experience new things. Happy first day of school.
