Rosemary Brown was the first Black woman elected to the British Columbia government and the first woman to run for leadership of a federal political party in Canada. Brown dedicated her life to advocacy, supporting initiatives that worked toward women's equality and advancement, on both a national and global scale. This included helping to found @canadianwomensfoundation, an incredible national nonprofit organization advocating for gender equality across Canada. We must continue to create spaces for women to lead, learn, and grow.
