It’s taken me awhile to find words but I just keep coming back to gratitude... I’m grateful that @goddessthemusical came into my life when I needed it the most, blessing me with family, fellowship, friendships, and fashions 😛👸🏾. Goddess taught me a lot about myself - that I’m worthy, that I deserve this, that I’m so much stronger than I give myself credit for, and that it’s ok to talk my $hit. I’m grateful for this cast of beautiful souls that held me up, prayed for me, reminded me to eat, loved on me, and let me cry and grieve and vent and release in the most challenging of times. There were days when I was exhausted, anxious, in pain, or simply didn’t have the capacity to lead, and y’all did not let me fall. From the hair team to Stage Management to Front of House and Crew, it took a strong village to keep this show afloat, and we managed it all without a single COVID case in our cast 🖤. Goddess in Berkeley was special - to see Black people showing up in droves, coming back 3 and 4 times to bring their nieces and aunts and cousins, claiming this as “their show”, thanking us for seeing them, for celebrating all sizes and shapes and hues, for showing little Black Girls that they can do and be anything they put their minds to.... I’m grateful. “What a privilege it was...”. ... til next time. 👸🏾🧜🏾‍♀️🌺✨
