This past week I gave a talk called “Neurogenesis beyond Lions Mane” I’ve been telling people for years Lions Mane isn’t the only nootropic mushroom! Truffles, Antrodia, Daldinia, Herecium, and more like the often neglected Sarcodon sp. I first interacted with Sarcodon imbricatus in the San Juan mountains and only ever picked a few as the Porcini and Chanterelles were always more appealing! If I only knew!! Ive also found Sarcodon in North Carolina and I know @mushroomlyfe has found it in Maryland. This post is a shout out to friends with access to analytical instruments to start screening your local Sarcodon sp for these Scabronine compounds, it’ll be easier to discover more compounds when we already have an idea of what we are looking for.
