She is heavily involved in the community in real life & on TV she plays Barbara Howard a teacher at an under-served school @abbottelemabc Under-served schools and communities are a real problem in every country so shows like this serve hopefully as a reminder about those kids that are mostly counted out, unseen & forgotten. The pandemic really set our kids back as well, homes that only had one laptop but 3 kids, or no wifi... made it very difficult for kids to learn on pace- there’s so much that goes unseen but we have to do what we can to make sure our community is collectively progressing or things will get worse. How we do ‘our part’ can exist any many forms, for Sheryl it’s using her craft to further awareness and conversation around the importance of education vs the lack of funding in certain schools.
