I am honored to announce Kitchen Sink Festival—a benefit to raise money for @HollywoodFoodCo and their efforts in addressing food scarcity in our city. On sale now at link in bio. It’s a bit sad that the notion of donating food and having skilled chef volunteers prepare nutritious and tasty meals is an almost radical notion when of course, it should be part of any harmonious society ..... but times are bleak and generosity is rare, and what a wallop just a little bit of those two things can pack ! I saw it first hand over at the @hollywoodfoodco while visiting my buddy Will Lemon as he put me to work chopping onions as he whipped up meals for any and all. As Will and former board member Bonnie got all the volunteers prepped, there was music playing, fragments of long missed catch up conversations, & an air of harmony and purpose infused the place .... something performative and experimental seemed to emerge, something like a happening, something like that very thing we had been longing for through the pandemic- community! spontaneously arising! like rain on the Gobi desert. But as much as I loved being there, my onion cutting skills could only go so far, so we started talking about a benefit, let’s invite of a bunch of LA’s finest to chip in with a few songs, have the brilliant @mitrajouhari host, and lets lend a little hand and help out the tireless folks at the Hollywood Food Coalition and spotlight the issue of food scarcity in our own backyard. Thank you to all of the amazing artists who will be participating with these intimate sets. Tickets are on sale now at the link bio. Poster design by @gabealca
