Let's take a dive into Asian Beauty favorites. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 🟣This isn't an exhaustive list but it covers some of the main ingredients we see in Asian Beauty. One major function that all these ingredients share is hydration and soothing benefits. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 🟢Bee Venom - Some studies show anti-bacterial effects. When skin bacteria were incubated with bee venom, a bacteriostatic action of bee venom was demonstrated, which was further supported by its anti-inflammatory activity. There is also one study that shows decrease in wrinkle-depth, however, the exact mechanism is currently unknown. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 🟢Snail Mucin - The biggest benefit seen from snail mucin is hydration. There are also studies that point out that snail mucin is a high-molecular weight peptide that penetrate the skin via hair follicles and then trigger the production of growth factors. However, my personal opinion is that we need more clinical studies to confirm this effect. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 🟢Centella - One of the most liked ingredient due to its soothing benefits. Many clinical studies point out it's synthesis in collagen stimulation as well as wound healing. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 🟢Propolis - It's main components - polyphenols are promising as they are characterized by an absorption spectrum that can filter UV light, though definitely not as well as sunscreen by any means. Propolis has also been used in acne treatment though it's not as effective as Benzoyl Peroxide. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 🟢Mugwort - Some studies showed anti-inflammatory effects and anti-bacterial effects. A lot of these studies are aimed towards acne-prone and sensitive skin types. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Aloe Vera - Many studies have shown that the gel can increase the flexibility and reduce the fragility of the skin since 97% of the gel is water. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 🔵What's your favorite k-beauty ingredient?
