San Diego artist Delana Delgado returns to MOPA, and not just in your feed, but in the MOPA Shop! 🌹 In an exclusive collaboration with local tattoo artist and illustrator @michellerubano, a limited edition t-shirt commemorating the subcultures that contribute to San Diego’s beauty is now available. When asked “What does being worthy or valiosx mean to you?” Delana had this to say: “Valiosx, or feeling ‘worthy,’ is something a lot of working class artists struggle with when we’re faced with a success standard that doesn’t offer us artists the same access as it does to those privileged enough to go to private art schools or to practice their craft without working 2-3 jobs to support themselves and often their families as well.” The shirt represents the tenacity of the local artist and the joy that can be brought when having radical love and community support. 🌹 Portions of the proceeds going towards the artist and @thehillstreetcountryclub, a non-institutionalized art space.
