Happy new year everyone! 💜 I’m so excited to start 2022 with this look that @lillianliuphotography and I put together, inspired by Persian miniature art and miniature women. A style of art that I grew up loving. For years, Lillian and I have had the idea of doing something inspired by traditional Persian art, and finally the stars aligned. 🌸 This set is part of an upcoming series for @faeriemagazine issue covering @enchantedasianday. This magical look would not be what it is without the beautiful design of @avalonsaez who created this dream dress. For years I adored Avalon’s designs from afar, so it was a dream wearing one of her iconic designs for such a special and personal shoot. 🥰 And of course, I can’t imagine anyone else bringing this look to life better than Lillian. She goes above and beyond for her art. It’s been a pleasure watching her grow over the years, and become the artist she is today, and I couldn’t be prouder. 💜 Can’t wait to share the vlog from this shoot with you all. Lillian had to make 4 chaotic Uber trips just to find the perfect fabric for my head as I was doing the makeup for the shoot. 😅 We found the perfect playlist of traditional Persian music to play in the background as I channeled my inner Persian woman. As a Persian woman, this was such a personal and important shoot for me, and definitely one of the looks I will forever remember and hold dear. 🌸 It’s inspired by traditional art while still having that fantasy twist that I always aim for. Also thanks to my wonderful dad for digging up his setar (the instrument I’m holding) and for my beautiful mom for getting it to me in time for the shoot. It really made the shoot that much more magical. ✨ May you all have a wonderful year in 2022. 💜
