For the last 15 years @WaterfrontAlliance’s City of Water Day has brought together communities throughout the NY/NJ Metro Region to raise awareness about the risk we all face from floods and rising seas, and champion climate resilient shorelines and waterfront communities.
For this year’s program we’re teaming up with the @north_bk_community_boathouse (NBCB), and visual and performing artist Marie Lorenz (@lorenzmarie ) for a Creekside cleanup and opportunity to see the forgotten reaches of our local superfund site from new and provocative angles.
From 11am - 2pm we’re hosting a cleanup at a public access site and street-end along the Dutch Kills tributary of the Creek. Gloves, tools, safety vests, and guidance on how to help care for the new urban meadows will all be provided!
