Pretty proud of this piece. You really have to take a closer look to actually see the details and if you’re a plant lover you can go and try to see if I got the succession of plants right. I’ve spent a few years learning about the plants I find around me here in the UK, both through gardening and through my flower pressing and cyanotype practice. When I heard there was an open call from the @kingstonstudents run @notmybeautifulhousekingston shop/gallery/event space, I knew I had to apply. I also thought this was a great opportunity to try something I wouldn’t usually have the luxury to do - such as create a massive print. I could have gone bigger as I have a huge plant collection, but 3 meters was already hard to work with. Perhaps next time, I’ll print directly on to fabric and make a quilt. Additionally, I should add that one could purchase a copy of this print in any size. I could scale it down to 1m and might sell some copies in the shop. Let me know what you think!
