Really delighted to contribute ‘Ah Ah [no direct translation]’ to a day of broadcasting on @montezpressradio on the 28th July in response to Speech Sounds, an exhibition at @visual_carlow curated by the wonderful @iarlaith_nifheorais Ah ah[no direct translation] is a sound essay that explores ideas of untranslatability in the tradition of sean nós singing in Ireland. This soundscape addresses the simultaneous intimacy and cohabitation that occurs within the spoken word, and the imperative to consider the responsibility weighted within the stunted silences between languages.
