Two weeks ago today the heavens gained another angel that I call mom. @yvette_mitchell_sharp and I have loved receiving all the beautiful texts and reading the tributes about her. It is comforting to know the impact she had on so many and how it will live in them forever. Mom was a force. A true trailblazer who broke so many stereo types and she did it unapologetically. She knew her WHY and purpose in life—It was a complete dedication to people--her Latino roots and community. Her ability to see people for who they are, to the potential of what could be and work tirelessly to open doors and create opportunities to be seen and heard. That was so much a part of her life's work, and we are so proud of all of her accomplishments. Mom loved fiercely and lead with kindness because everyone was worthy. I am so grateful to the many moments we have shared—especially this year. Mom, I carry within me all of your best parts and will work in your memory to always spread positive vibes, love and kindness. You were marvelous and majestic and we will miss you forever.
