I have spent nearly 10 years caring for patients in this building. I have done cpr, intubated, and lined more patients than I could count. I have told countless famlies their loved one has passed. I have watched so many take thier last breath here. I have cried with my co-workers. I have slept on air mattresses during hurricanes to remain available for critically ill patients. I have been hit and threatened by patients here. I also met some of my best friends here. I have laughed so hard my ribs hurt. I have cried happy tears with patients when they come back to thank us for saving them. I have shared a lot of coffee and many meals with people that have become my chosen family. Its a bitter sweet feeling knowing this building is closed and will be torn down.
